Julie joined Franklin Templeton Investments in 2013. She provides strategic leadership globally for the firm’s ESG activities. She partners with investment leadership to support efforts to evolve and deepen integration best practice of explicit ESG considerations into Franklin Templeton’s general investment philosophy, process and stewardship activities.

Prior to joining Franklin Templeton, Julie held the role of head of investment risk strategy at Aviva Investors (2009-2013) which included oversight responsibilities across Aviva’s sustainable investment strategies. Prior to this she held the role of vice president-quant and risk analytics at MSCI-Barra, where she spent over eight years advising clients on the implementation of quant risk management techniques.

Julie earned a B.A. in Economics and M.A. in International Economics from Essex University. She serves as a member of the investor advisory group at the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board. In addition she is a member on the Sustainable and Responsible Investment Committee at the UK’s Investment Association ESG Task Force at the Investment Company Institute ESG Standing Committee at the European Fund and Asset Management Association.
