Implementing forthcoming consultation directives

Away from the hustle and bustle of London, the LGPS Pooling Symposium takes place at The Belfry Hotel & Resort on the 23rd – 24th April, 2024.

The Symposium will again focus on how LGPS pooling evolves. Leading figures from the local authority pension funds and the Pools will participate in a challenging and lively agenda that will ensure the Symposium is a must attend event for any person or organisation that wants to be involved in the future shaping of Pooling.

To create the right environment for such an important event, the Symposium will again be a retreat style event under Chatham House rule.

By sponsoring, your organisation will align itself with the Pooling debate and be part of the discussion through varied speaking opportunities during the 1½ day agenda.

In March’s spring budget the government challenged LGPS funds in England and Wales to move further and faster on consolidating assets and said it would launch a consultation that would propose that LGPS funds transfer all listed assets into their pools by March 2025.

The consultation LGPS: Next steps on investment ran for 11 weeks and closed on 2nd October.

The Chancellor Jeremy Hunt announced the consultation in his first annual Mansion House speech. Read his comments here: LGPS Pooling Consultation
